Hi , Since when are you facing this issue?Did you make any changes to the computer before this issue started? Are you using Wireless connection or Ethernet to connect to Internet?Do you have any router installed? However, you may try to put the computer in a clean boot state and check if any third party application is causing this issue. Access the link below and follow the steps to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows XP.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 If your issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, then follow the steps mentioned in the below KB article to narrow down the exact source. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310560 Also in the same article, see the section on how return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under “Reset the computer to start as usual” and set it to Normal startup. Hope this helps. Let us know the results. Thanks and Regards, Srinivas RMicrosoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Hello and thanks for responding. I have been having the problem for some time now. I have tried several things to resolve the problem myself. I can't remember if I made a change to the computer before the problem first began. I have a wireless connection and use a router. I will try what you suggested and let you know what happens. Thanks,Stay home Mom

Download and run Malwarebytes (freeware) in Safe Mode. You should disable your existing security software before running Malwarebytes.http://www.malwarebytes.org/Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell
